Today you were treated with Juvederm/Restylane/Revolax/Teosyal hyaluronic acid dermal filler. You may have some swelling (up to 30%), bruising and redness which should subside within 1-14 days.
Dos & Don’ts
Arnica tablets/cream can be used to subside bruising and anti-histamines/anti-inflammatories (e.g. ibuprofen) can be taken to reduce swelling. A cold compress can also be used to reduce swelling.
After around 2 weeks when the area is fully healed, if there are any lumps you can firmly massage these to smooth out.
It is advised that you do not touch the area for around 6 hours and therefore do not apply makeup until after this time – this is for infection purposes. Also avoid alcohol intake for 24 hours.
You should avoid sunbed use for at least 2 weeks post treatment, please also note that sunbeds/sun exposure speed up the breakdown of filler.
Don’t have facial massages/derma-rolling/semi-permanent makeup/microdermabrasion for 2 weeks after your treatment. This is to avoid moving the filler.
When will I see the final result?
The final result will become evident once any swelling and/or bruising has subsided. Lips can be re-injected after 2 weeks if you wish to build on size. If you have achieved your desired size, top ups are recommended every 3-6 months. Hyaluronic acid is a water-binding molecule therefore a significant daily water intake will maximise your filler result.
IMPORTANT: If the area becomes extremely painful, white/grey or dusky please contact myself immediately. Pending necrosis is extremely rare but would need immediate attention, it is caused by filler disrupting normal blood supply causing the discolouration. Any tracking up to the nose or down to the chin requires URGENT review by contacting myself on 07554424690 or if after hours to A&E for product reversal.
